Kim Gottlieb-Walker‘s incredibly varied career has covered everything from rock and roll, reggae and politics in the ’60s and ’70s to working on major motion pictures and television shows. While still at UCLA (where she received a BA in Motion Picture Production) she began shooting for underground newspapers and magazines including Crawdaddy and Music World. Her portraits of Jimi Hendrix were shot when she was 20 and her Bob Marley “High Times” cover remains her most popular cover, ever. She was the unit photographer for John Carpenter for his early films from “Halloween” to “Escape from New York” and has worked at Paramount for nine years on: Cheers,” for five on “Family Ties” and on many other shows as wells as shooting for Stephen Spielberg on “Amazing Stories” at Universal. She has been one of the elected representatives for still photographers on the National Executive Board of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local600) for over 20 years. Her coffee-table photo book “Bob Marley and the Golden Age of Reggae” was published by Titan Books (UK) distributed by Random House (USA) and is available through Barnes&Noble, amazon and all good bookstores. Her first solo gallery show was in the Spring of 2011 in London at the PROUD Camden. Visit her photoblog at www.lenswoman.tumblr.com and her website at www.lenswoman.com
