Family Fun Weekend
Bring the family and help us celebrate our exhibit Cuba Is with a Family Fun Weekend! Join us for two days of Cuban percussion and dance, interactive storytelling, group art activities, interactive Latin musical and dance performances, family photo-ops and bubble fun!
Schedule of Events

Saturday, October 14
11 AM
- Face painting with Rainbow Painted Smiles begins.
- Cuba-themed communal art project begins.
- Festibubble’s bubble-fun station opens. (Open until 2PM)
- Take a break from the excitement in our Aesop Family Lounge stocked with items to revitalize even the most harried parent. (Open until 3PM)
11:30 AM
- Get moving with Baila Baila’s first performance of the day! (45-minute performance)
12 PM
- Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Love Swirls Cotton Candy Cart.
12:45 PM
- Experience an interactive Afro-Cuban percussion and dance performance by Omo Ache Cuban Cultural Arts! (Three, 20-minute sets)
Start times: 12:45 PM / 1:10 PM / 1:40 PM
2:00 PM
- Story time with Books and Cookies.
- Festibubble bubble fun concludes for the day.
2:30 PM
- Second performance of the day with Baila Baila! (30-minute performance)
- Last call for face painting with Rainbow Painted Smiles.
Sunday, October 15
11 AM
- Face painting with Rainbow Painted Smiles begins.
- Cuba-themed communal art project begins.
- Festibubble’s bubble fun station opens. (Open until 2 PM)
11:30 AM
- First performance of the day with Sandra Sandia and her musical friends!
12:30 PM
- Satisfy your sweet tooth with cotton candy at the Love Swirls Cotton Candy Cart.
- Get ready to move those hips when you learn merengue and salsa dance, all while creating music with “First Lady of Bachata” Leslie Ferreira. (30-minute performance)
1:30 PM
- Second interactive Latin dance instruction with Leslie Ferreira. (30-minute performance)
2:00 PM
- Story Time hosted by Books and Cookies.
- Festibubble bubble fun concludes for the day.
2:30 PM
- Sandra Sandia returns with a drum circle and music jam!
- Last call for face painting with Rainbow Painted Smiles.
