PAST EVENT: Sat, Jul 21, 2018
Back by popular demand! If your days are busy, but your nights are free, Annenberg After Hours is the perfect time to check out Not an Ostrich: And Other Images from America’s Library. Join us on Saturday, July 21 to enjoy live music, a documentary with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Library of Congress, and 440 thought-provoking images that span the history of our nation and the art of photography itself, in an exhibition American Photography calls “a collection of stunning images that document special moments in American culture and history.”
Prompt arrival is encouraged as entry is granted on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach capacity. RSVP does not guarantee entry. As always, admission is free.
Exhibit
Not an Ostrich: And Other Images from America’s Library is the result of celebrated American photography curator Anne Wilkes Tucker’s excavation of nearly 500 images—out of a collection of over 14 million—permanently housed at the Library of Congress.
