Walker Wells is Vice President of Green Urbanism Programs at Global Green, a national nonprofit based in Santa Monica. His work focuses on urban sustainability and green building, with an emphasis on revitalizing disadvantaged communities increasing community resiliency. Wells works with affordable housing developers throughout California to integrate green strategies into building design and neighborhood planning.
Nationally, Wells has led over 20 Sustainable Neighborhood Assessments – three-day intensive collaborations that combine site visits, stakeholder dialogue and technical analysis based on LEED for Neighborhood Development, including in communities severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy. He is a certified urban planner, a LEED Accredited Professional, a lecturer at UCLA and Pomona College, and a 2013 Fulbright Fellow to the Royal Technical Academy in Stockholm, Sweden.
