Sarah Elliott is a graduate of Parsons School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and has been based in Nairobi, Kenya since 2008. Elliott has traveled extensively and is interested in documenting social issues in Africa with a focus on women. Stories include reproductive rights in Kenya, maternal mortality in Ethiopia, fistula repair in Central African Republic and her most recent story, women’s roles during the revolutions in Egypt and Libya. Elliott was a participant in the 2010 World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass as well as winning third Prize in the Contemporary Issues category in 2011. Other awards include Global World: Through the lens of Human RIghts, shortlisted for the Anthropographia Award for Human Rights, PX3 and being named a PDN30 in 2012.
