Jenny E. Ross is an award-winning photographer and writer focusing on wildlife, ecosystems, earth systems, environmental issues and related cultural and policy topics. Her work draws attention to environmental problems, inspires concern and action for wildlife conservation and ecosystem protection, explains science to non-scientists and elicits a renewed appreciation of the natural world and heightened understanding of the essential connections between humans and nature.
Ross’ work has been widely published in books, magazines and newspapers. Her photographs have also been displayed at many venues, including: Anchorage Museum of History & Art, Australian National Maritime Museum, California Academy of Sciences Natural History Museum, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, The Natural History Museum in London and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
Ross has been honored in the World Press Photo awards, the Pictures of the Year International awards and the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards. She has received the Nature’s Best Award for Wildlife Photography, the Philip Hyde Award for Environmental Photography, the Vision Award of the North American Nature Photography Association and an Outstanding Environmental Photojournalism Award from the Society of Environmental Journalists. She is a Senior Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers.
