New Deal Utopias exames three planned communities conceived and constructed by the Depression-era government. The towns of Greenbelt, Maryland; Greenhills, Ohio; and Greendale, Wisconsin, were craeted as model cities to resettle displaced farmers and poor urban dwellers. Evoking utopia both as a place and an idea in the American mind, my photographs explore how these pre-made idylls play out in the contemporary moment.
