As a wildlife photographer, Ian Nichols‘ goals are to remind viewers of our connection to nature and to explain complex scientific ideas through the lens. He is pursuing a graduate degree in biology to increase his understanding of the natural world and to further the use of photography as a scientific tool. Nichols’ images from Congo show a habituated lowland gorilla family and the tool-using chimpanzees of the Goualougo Triangle.
