Lisette Poole is a Cuban-American photojournalist based in Havana whose work explores themes of beauty, resilience and family history. She has covered the transformation of the island for the last seven years as it incorporates new elements of capitalism, while the nation moves away from its socialist and communist past. In her lecture, Poole will discuss her photographs and provide an intimate look at Cuba and its people, reflecting her experience as part of the diaspora and returning to her mother’s homeland to document daily life on the island.
