Around the World with The Little Market

with Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla
PAST EVENT: Sat, Jun 11, 2016

Join us for a moderated lecture panel with the founders of The Little Market, Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla. The Little Market’s mission is to build sustainable partnerships with women artisans from around the world, connecting them with customers for their handmade goods through an online marketplace. The Little Market currently work with 26 artisan partners in 16 countries.

Conrad is an accomplished designer and entrepreneur and a New York Times best-selling author. Skvarla has visited artisans worldwide to source products for The Little Market. As a member of Human Rights Watch (HRW), she has had the opportunity to see their work firsthand in numerous countries.

Elizabeth Calvin, Senior Advocate of the Children’s Rights Division of Human Rights Watch, will join Conrad and Skvarla to discuss what their groups do, how the work they do to empower women around the world is interconnected and the ways that photography has been a useful tool in communicating their messages. The panel will be moderated by Lindsay Guetschow of The Malala Fund.

Before the lecture, enjoy refreshments and desserts, and afterwards, explore The Little Market pop-up shop in Skylight Studios.
